Meet Bob Davis aka, SoupManBob.
I began my food journey over 40 years ago.
Beginning as a dishwasher, I quickly worked my way up through the ranks from prep cook, to line cook, to soux chef, to chef, only to discover that food is my passion.
I’ve been extremely fortunate to train under some of the best San Francisco Bay area chefs; among these are Chef Ken Wolfe at Contra Costa College, Chef Robert Guerguy of Le Marquis restaurant in Lafayette CA, and Chef Jean-Pierre Doignon at La Cheminee restaurant in Kings Beach CA.
Each chef left an indelible stamp on my life. From Chef Wolfe, I was taught the foundational techniques of cooking, from Chef Guerguy, I was taught classic French dishes, soups and sauces, and from Chef Doignon, I was taught how to be creative with classical dishes.
During my time as a chef, I discovered that people really enjoyed eating my soups and making them came naturally.
For the past couple decades, I've been out of the restaurant business to focus on my marriage and raising my two boys. During which time, I enjoyed cooking for friends and family. While all of my friends encouraged me to open my own restaurant, the time was never right.
After being laid-off during COVID-19, a friend asked me if I would be interested in making soups for her dinners, and through a series of providential events, SoupManBob was born.
As my business grows, I will continue to add to my repertoire and if you’ve got any favorite soups, please let me know. Once I master it, I will add it to my soup list.
Feel free to browse my website, check out the soups that I have available, drop me an email, call or text me if you have any questions or would like to place an order.
My desire is that when you taste my soup, your first reaction is Wow! That is really good!
